Back in the UK July 15, 2008
And where’s the flag, where’s our proud, wonderful British flag? Where is the patriotism? I arrive at Gatwick airport, like all airports, it’s not a ‘nice’ place, but unlike the American airports, there’s no flag, there’s no patriotic symbols, there is absolutely nothing telling me I’m actually back in England.
Is Britain not proud of its own heritage? No. That sucks.

Hey,
I am looking to start my own small blog, and just looking around at designs at the moment. I am quite impressed by your website and was wondering if you do any freelance web design, and if so what kind of quote I’d be looking at to design a small blog, I guess somewhat similar to this one (Illustrations in the header, simple layout).
Please let me know,
Cheers
Jarrad

Your post seems a bit confused, you ask where the british flag is when related to returning to England? The british flag relates to the whole of the UK, and not just England so what kind of patriotism are you looking for? The problem is most people feel patriotic to where they come from, which is England, Scotland, Wales etc and not the UK

That’s a different issue, England is part of the UK/Britain, and so is Scotland and Wales. To me, they’re all one country, because having separate governments is a joke, we’re a small island nation, we don’t need to be split. The Scots and Welsh are ridiculous in their pro-seperatist ideas and want for an entirely different nation. Britain needs to re-unite, we were once a great nation, we were British, and we seem to have forgotten this to be replaced with internal bickerings.

How is it ridiculous?
A high percentage of Scots and Welsh feel exactly like that, that they are Scottish and Welsh and not British. If someone asks for your nationality, do you say British or English?
It’s becoming increasingly clear that the Union has had it’s day and that all four nations of the UK would fair a lot better on their own, with the power to take their own decisions. The break up doesn’t mean that we’ll all fall out, it’s widely accepted there will be co-operation in areas such as immigration but each nation will have the dignity and respect of standing up and saying that they are eactly that, a nation in their own right.

I’m British, a Brit. I think we’re falling out for no real reason, we’re the same people, we should stick together. Including Southern Ireland too, it shouldn’t be a separate place. I’m very pro-Britain, all this internal conflict is pathetic, why can’t we just get along and be patriotic under one, united nation & flag?

I can only speak from a Scottish perspective but I don’t think anyone’s falling out as such, it’s just that there is a growing feeling that Scotland should stand up for itself and take control of our own affairs. It’s not because of what anyone else has done but more to do with dignity; Scotland is a nation and a nation should rule itself.
Although I’m intrigued by your comment that Southern Ireland should re-join the UK
